2009 HYPER-FESTSaturday, June 20th, 2009 at Summit Point Motorsports Park PO Box 190, Summit Point, WV 25446 ADMISSION: Admission is $20. USDrift Competition: Practice and qualifying for the USDrift competition will occur on Friday evening from 5PM till dark. The tandem elimination competition will occur late afternoon on Saturday, June 20. Competitors may arrive after 3:30PM Friday. Both practice and qualifying will be held on Friday night for the USDrift Competition. The top 16 drivers will advance and have a practice session mid-day on Saturday. USDrift competitors that do not make the top 16 are eligible to register for additional track time at the Drift Nirvana (USD 101) school held on the Shendandoah Circuit on Saturday for $120 ($50 discount off the regular price) provided spaces are still available. Drivers who pre-register for both the USDrift Competition and the Drift Nirvana (USD 101) school receive no discount because they are assuring themselves of a slot on Saturday. Qualifying and competition rounds will be judged by a 3-member panel for this event. Judged criteria includes; entry speed into the turns, overall speed carried throughout the judged portion of the run, drift angle (the bigger, the better – without sacrificing speed), clipping points (apex of the turns), use of the entire track (performed in a controlled manner). Extra points can be awarded to drivers at the discretion of the individual judges and may include, but are not limited to, close proximity to barriers, amount of tire smoke, tire smoke that causes a change in the following driver’s line, and if minor contact is made with an object, but the drift is still maintained (i.e. bumper gently tagging a barrier). Drivers meetings are mandatory for ALL participants . Attendance will be taken and failure to attend will forfeit your right to participate in that session. Grounds speed limit is 10 mph and paddock speed limit is 5mph, both will be strictly enforced. Event is held rain or shine. Drift Nirvana (USD 101) School: Drift Nirvana (USD 101) students may arrive after 8AM on Saturday and must be there by 9AM. All entrants should go to Information Booth for check-in. Drift Nirvana (USD 101) entry includes both track and classroom time. Spaces were sold out early last year, so be sure to pre-register to ensure your spot. REGISTRATION*: Pre-registration for the USDrift competition is $135 and for the USD 101 school is $150. You can pre-register for either event here.
