2021 MIDWEST DRIFT KNOCK-OUT!

134421162.jpg

We couldn’t let the Midwest go another year without a PRO/AM competition event, so we’ve partnered up with some of our favorite Midwest friends and throwing a competition the day after Formula DRIFT at World Wide Technology Raceway on their infield road course.

World Wide Technology Raceway is a multiple use motorsport facility with a 1.25-Mile oval, 1.6-Mile infield road course, and a ¼-Mile drag strip all onsite. Notable drifting events that have taken place on the road course are Formula DRIFT, Street Driven Tour, NOPI Drift, Midwest Drift Union, and Drift Indy’s No Star Bash.

Going back to the traditional format of drifting competition, the Midwest Drift Knock-Out! presented by Link ECU event will take place on one day only and feature a practice session, qualifying session, and single elimination tandem competition (with a third place battle).

💥 Note: We will make updates to this page as more details become available, so please reference this page for the most up to date information.💥

FORMAT:

The Midwest Drift Knock-Out! presented by Link ECU is a traditional drifting competition event format consisting of practice, qualifying, and a single elimination competition. This event will take place over the course of one day; as such, it will be limited to only 32 drivers.

TRACK DESIGN.

This track is a very fast and technical course. Split second hesitations have won and lost events for drivers here. Our goal is to design a challenging course that will be both technical and exciting for drivers and spectators to enjoy. NOTE: A proposed course for this year’s event will be updated here shortly, however it may change between now and the event. The final course design will be announced in the first drivers’ meeting.

RULEBOOK & JUDGING:

The 2021 Midwest Knock-Out! “will be utilizing the 2021 Formula Drift PROAM Regulations V1.0, which is also being used by every other Formula DRIFT PRO/AM organization this season. The rulebook will be posted shortly.

For those of you that have previously competed with USDrift, Midwest Drift, and other Formula DRIFT approved licensing organizations, the 2021 rulebook is roughly 98% the same as the 2020 season. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your vehicle’s eligibility, please contact us after the rulebook has been posted.

Although we try our best to avoid updates midseason, they may occur. Please verify you are using the most current version when reviewing throughout the season. Each version is denoted by the number immediately at the end (i.e. V1.X, with X representing the updates). NOTE: This rulebook is designed by the staff at Formula DRIFT, therefore this rulebook should not lead you astray in building a car that could later compete in Formula DRIFT PRO or PROSPEC.
