SHOOT-OUT, STREET LEGAL, AND OTHER UPDATES

With changes constantly evolving week to week regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic at national, state, and local levels; we have been hoping that our larger scheduled events were far enough away to not be impacted. However, once the virus picked up traction in late February/early March, we froze registrations for these events until we might have a better idea on how things would play out. As with almost everything else this year, we are saddened to announce that our schedule has been affected by the virus like so many other events. We hope these changes still allow you to attend these events and that we can all hang out with our friends like we used to in the very near future.

STREET LEGAL
Our inaugural USDrift Street Legal event slated to take place on Sunday, June 28th has now been rescheduled to Sunday, August 16th. While we could have held this event with limited attendance consisting of drivers, one crew, staff, and select media; that wouldn’t make this a great event that everyone could enjoy with their friends and family. And with this being our first Street Legal event, we want it to be as awesome as possible. As such, we decided to push the event back 7 weeks in hopes that this would allow additional time for the gathering restrictions to be lifted in our area. In place of the June 28th event, we will be holding a private drift day event open to drivers, media, and limited crew (sorry, no spectators) for those that are going through withdrawals and still want to drive.

Because the Street Legal event was designed as an invitational event that required drivers to register and then be approved or denied, we will be reopening registration effective immediately and allowing additional drivers to continue to register for it. Registration will end at midnight on Friday, July 17th. We will then select drivers in the subsequent days and alert them if they have been approved or denied on Friday, July 24th, with refunds being processed that weekend for drivers that didn’t get approved. Drivers who have already registered for this event will remain registered unless they are unable to attend the rescheduled date, in which case they may contact us at orders[@]usdrift.com for a full refund.

SHOOT-OUT
Our annual USDrift Shoot-Out event has also been affected, and due to several factors including newly developed scheduling conflicts, we were forced to change the date, venue, and implement a few other changes [that we hope you will enjoy]. For starters, the event will now take place two weeks later on September 18-19 and is being combined with our good friends over at Mid-West Drift Union at Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, OH.

Since we are combining two Shoot-Out events, which normally only allow a maximum of 40 drivers to participate, we have decided to increase the number of participants and hold the first ever Top 64 tandem drift event (as far as we know, as we couldn’t find any info of one ever taking place). Due to the increase in the number of participants, we are combining the number of Formula DRIFT PRO2 licenses normally awarded from each Shoot-Out event to six (6) at this event. We are working diligently to still try and stream this event, so we will update you with more information on that as it becomes available. We are also increasing the payout prize purse to $15,000*. NOTE: This requires a full field of 64 drivers, otherwise the purse will be scaled down if less than 64. Registration for this event will be broken up into the usual two waves of registration. Registration links will be updated shortly.

  • The first wave of 32 spots will open at 10AM on Friday, June 5th, 2020.

  • The second wave of 32 spots will open at 6PM on Friday, June 26th, 2020.
